A collaborative theatre machine
Map of the world is an open source theatre machine. A theatre machine is any creative space with rules that use humans to perform some activity. Map of the world theatre devices can be paper, pens, memories, stories or anything that helps humans to manifest map of the world. Everything the humans in the machine remember or conjure up about the world. The task of the machine is to manifest a map of the world, document and share.
Map of the world explores the question “ How do we talk about our world”
The idea is to manifest a more honest, maybe less accurate that Google Earth, view of the world. An analog map that will be unique to each theatre machine. To discuss where true borders lie between nations, what we have in common and how as humans view the world around us. But also conjure up questions we seldom or maybe never address. How do you explain what kind of a country Russia is on a map? Is there a photograph or a song that can do that?
